Nandail: A youth named Rana (20) was hacked to death by miscreants in Nandail, Mymensingh.

The incident took place on Sunday (April 21) around 9:00 p.m. in Banadhi Gangailpara village of Rajgati Union of Nandail Upazila.

Police have detained three people named Bakul Mia (50), Bulu Mia (45) and Hamim (20) for questioning in this incident.

Deceased Rana Banadhi is the son of Abul Hasem of Gangailpara village. On Sunday night, Rana was sitting on the pond in front of his house and spending time on his mobile phone. Meanwhile, the miscreants forcibly took him from the pond to the paddy field. Locals believe that he was hacked to death there.

Later, the relatives of the deceased Rana searched for him and found him in a bloody state in the paddy field and immediately reported the matter to the police. The police visited the spot and recovered the dead body and sent it to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

It is to be noted that there was a long-standing dispute between the Rajan Gangs and the Bakul Gangs in Gangailpara village of Banadhi, including a long-standing dispute regarding electric irrigation lines.

However, there have been reports of attacks, vandalism and looting of Bakul Gang’s houses in connection with the incident of the slain Rana. At present, police have been deployed there to keep the situation calm in Banadhi village.

Officer-in-charge of Nandail Model Police Station. Abdul Majeed confirmed the matter of the slain Rana and said that three people have been detained for questioning, legal action will be taken against the killers soon.
