As the tech world eagerly awaits the Google I/O 2024 event, a new leak has revealed the possible price of the upcoming Google Pixel 8a. The smartphone is expected to be the highlight of the event, touted to be the most affordable of Google’s Pixel 8 series, after last year’s Pixel 7a.

According to Enthusiast Geek, a Canadian retailer has listed the Pixel 8a for CAD 708.99 (roughly Rs. 42,830) for the 128GB storage variant. For those looking at the 256GB variant, it can be priced at CAD 792.99 (roughly Rs. 47,900). In India, the Pixel 8a is expected to be priced at Rs 1,000 (around RMB 148). 1,000 to Rs.2,000 more than its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which was priced at Rs. It was 43,999 in May 2023.

Specifications to be noted
While details remain speculative, the Pixel 8a is expected to feature Google’s Tensor G3 chip, the same chip behind the Pixel 8 series. The chip is expected to add artificial intelligence capabilities to the device. The smartphone may feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and may support 5G and 4G LTE connectivity.

For photography, the Pixel 8a may feature a dual-camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The dimensions of the device are expected to be 153.44 x 72.74 x 8.94 mm, which is very close to its predecessor. Additionally, users can look forward to an IP rating for dust and water resistance and wireless charging support.
