In the first 19 days of this month, 128.15 million USD remittances have arrived in the country. According to this, an average of 67.4 million dollars has arrived in the country every day. Every year there is a trend of increased income on the occasion of Eid, but this time it was not seen.
This information is known from Bangladesh Bank’s update on expatriate income on Sunday (April 21).
According to the report, in the first 19 days of April, 128 million 15 million 10 thousand US dollars remittances came to the country. Out of this, 108 million 81 million dollars came through private banks. And the state-owned banks brought 11 million dollars, a specialized bank 79 million dollars and foreign banks 39 million 30 thousand dollars.
In the first 19 days of last March, 122 million 17 million USD remittances came. According to that, the remittance flow has increased in the current month, Bangladesh Bank said.
Apart from this, 210 million dollars in January and 216 million dollars in February came to the country. In the last financial year 2022-23, expatriate income came to 2 thousand 161 crore seven lakh dollars. In the previous financial year 2021-22, the income came to 2 thousand 103 crore 17 lakh dollars. In the financial year 2020-21, the expatriate income came to 2 thousand 477 crore 77 million dollars, which is the highest in a financial year so far.
