The arrested are Chhabbir Hossain (20) son of Abdul Haque of Dattakandi village of that upazila, Shakib Khan (21) son of Arfan member and Milan Pasha (27) son of Bachir member. Among them, Chabbir and Saqib have given a confessional statement in the court.

He said that on the morning of March 27, 2017, the police recovered the body of Subarna from that char. In this incident, his father Shukur Ali became the plaintiff and filed a murder case against the unknown accused. When the police investigated the case and submitted the final report, the plaintiff filed a complaint in the court and the learned court directed the PBI to investigate the case. The PBI started investigating the case in early December 2020. Chhabbir Hossain, the victim’s cousin, was arrested on Friday on the basis of information technology and intelligence during the investigation. Based on the information given by him, Shakib Khan was arrested that day from Dattakandi Shole Bazar.

Before this, Milan Pasha, the main hero of this incident, was detained and interrogated, but no accurate information was received from him. However, the main secret of the incident came out during the interrogation of arrested Chhabir and Shakib Khan.

In the interrogation, it is known that they went to the Dattakandi High School ground to watch the cultural program of the Great Independence Day on March 26, 2017. There Subarna is seen playing with her cousin Chhabbir. That’s when they made a plan to rape her and according to this plan, Chhabbir and Shakib took Subarna to Madhyasimuliya pasture that evening. The rest of the accused were already staying there and she was gang-raped by 8 people in turn. Suvarna lost consciousness during this incident. In this situation, the accused thought of their own danger and strangled him by twisting a veil around his neck. The police recovered his body the next day and sent it to the hospital morgue and blood on his private parts was collected as evidence. A DNA test of Alamat found samples of Siemens on the clothes he was wearing. It can be confirmed that Suvarna was raped before being killed. Chhabbir, Saqib and another accused were between 12 and 13 years of age at the time of the incident and rest of the accused were youths. He mentioned that their names cannot be disclosed for the sake of investigation. Several police officers of PBI and journalists from various media were present in this press conference.
