University student Mohammad Sawad Haque died while swimming in the swimming pool of Dhaka University. This incident happened on Monday around 1.30 pm. Immediately after the incident, his body was brought to Dhaka Medical College. Later the attending doctor declared him dead.
Mohammad was a first year student of philosophy department of Swaad University, lived in Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall of the university. His village home is in Sadar Upazila of Bogra.
Regarding his death, Sabbir Hossain Khoka, a fourth year student of Islamic History and Culture Department of Dhaka University, said, We three friends went down to take a bath in the swimming pool. At that time, I suddenly saw Soad drowning in water. Later, I caught him and lifted him up. Then he vomited and fainted. After that, when he was rushed to the hospital, the doctor in charge declared him dead.
Shaikhul Islam, another student of Sowader district and same department, told Bangladesh Moments that Sowader had asthma problem. However, he was a very active boy in university life.
In the afternoon, Dhamek was seen on the surface, the heavy Dhamek square was surrounded by the cries of Soad’s friends and relatives. His body has been kept in the medical morgue. After the incident, his father was informed. As soon as the father heard the incident, he left for Dhaka by bus. But as the house is far away from Dhaka, Sawad’s father could not come to the medical till the report was written (6 pm). As a result, his body has been kept in the morgue till then.
