A laborer died in Nawabganj due to soil compaction

A laborer named Azizul Islam died while pressing soil in Nawabganj of Dinajpur.
The accident took place on Monday (April 22) at 3 pm while building the foundation of an old mosque in Bhaduria Union market of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Nawabganj police station Tawhidul Islam Tawhid confirmed the matter.
The deceased worker is Azizul Islam (25), son of the deceased Azad Ali of Naleya village of Mahmudpur union of Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur district.
Locals said that some workers were digging the soil since morning. In this situation, when the ground collapsed, two workers were buried under the ground. Later, the locals quickly rescued one but the other died due to delay in rescuing the laborer Azizul.
Nawabganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tawhidul Islam Tawhid said, I got to know on mobile phone that a laborer was killed while doing soil work in Bhaduria Union. Azizul Rahman was working as a laborer for the last few days on the complete construction of Bhaduria Bazar old mosque. On Monday afternoon, some workers including Azizul were working on piling for the foundation fifteen feet below the ground.
As the soil was wet and soft, the soil collapsed from above and two workers were buried under the ground. Later, they were rescued by fire service and locals and taken to Nawabganj Upazila Hospital where doctors declared Azizul Islam dead.
