A student took to the streets of Naogaon demanding to ensure safe roads. Fatema Afrin Choa, a fifth grade student of Naogaon Government High School for Girls, stood with a black cloth over her eyes on Sunday (April 21) from 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Taj and Breez in the city.

At that time, the poster held by the student Fatema Afrin Choya was written “I want safety on the road, I want to live like I want to live, I want to enforce traffic laws to avoid accidents.” Local pedestrians also welcomed such initiative.

Pedestrian Zulfikar Rahmar said, we are not safe on the road. There is no guarantee that I will be able to return home safely if I leave the house. Such initiative of a young child student really impressed us. Everyone should speak up for safe roads.

Two other pedestrians named Nilufar Yasmin and Tanha Khatun said that the protest and demand of the child is very reasonable despite the intense sun and heat. We support his claim. We have a lot to learn from him. Every day fresh life is falling on the road. Everyone should unite and protest for safe roads.

Fatima Afrin Choya, a child student, said that every day I see news of death in road accidents on TV-magazines. Most of them are road accident related deaths. There is no guarantee that I will be able to return home to my parents if I go out on the road or on my way to school. Seeing so many deaths every day makes me feel very sad and scared. Several days ago parents died in a road accident at Yad Ali intersection in Naogaon city. And their 5-year-old child survived. Now imagine what will happen to that child now. For the rest of his life, the child was deprived of the love of his parents. I want safe roads. I want to travel safely on the road. An urgent request to the government to take appropriate measures to ensure safe roads.

Fatema Afrin Chhoa’s father, music artist Khademul Islam Captain, said that on April 18, popular song lyricist and composer Motiur Rahman Hasan aka Pagal Hasan died in a road accident in Sunamganj’s Surma Bridge area. Pagal Hasan was my colleague and friend. Earlier on April 17, a couple named Enamul Haque and Barshti Akhtar died in a road accident at Yad Ali intersection in Naogaon city. And their 5-year-old child Junaid Islam survived. These incidents left a deep scar on my daughter’s mind. He can’t keep himself from hearing news of so many deaths every day. Because of which he said, father, I want to stand on the road to demand safe roads. I could not say no to this noble and logical request of the girl. Because of which I fully support him.

He also said that if everyone in the country were aware and raised their demands just like how my little girl is standing alone on the road demanding safe roads, then such incidents like loss of life would have been reduced a lot. We want safe roads, we want everyone to obey the traffic laws and implement the initiative. And to implement it, I call upon the government as well as the common people, vehicle drivers and owners to work together.

safe the road want (Nischa ) Naogaon district branch the president A come M Raihan Alam said, safe of the road in claim we are for a long time by holding the movement by doing going as well as vehicles the driver And the owners Be aware doing student Fatima Afrin to touch such initiative our fascinated did such claim And sense of awareness if everyone between awake would have been However the road the accident a lot reduce with to come sambab says in mind I do his such initiative And to claim congratulations let me know
