3 people died in Chuadanga in last two days due to severe fire. Two people, including a woman, died due to heat stroke and diarrhea. Many are sick and admitted to the hospital.

Construction worker Siddique Ali (45) died while undergoing treatment for diarrhea at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased Siddique Ali is the son of Azizul Haque of old Bastapur village of Damurhuda upazila.

Siddique Ali was working as a rod mason in Chuadanga town for two days. On Friday he fell seriously ill after suffering from diarrhea in the intense heat. He was then admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital on Saturday night. He died there around 1 pm on Sunday.

Siddique Ali’s brother Siraj Master confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, a youth and a woman died of heatstroke in Chuadanga’s Damurhuda Upazila on Saturday when the temperature was 42.4 degrees. A woman named Marjina Khatun (60) died of heatstroke in Damurhuda Upzilla Sadar at around 3 pm on Saturday.

The deceased Marjina Khatun is the wife of Azim Uddin of Union Parishad Para of Upzilla Sadar.

Kamrul Islam Kamu, the son of the deceased Marjina Khatun, said that my mother (Marjina Khatun) suddenly fell ill due to excessive heat around 3 o’clock. At that time, we took her in the auto van to take her to Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex, she died.

Before this, Zakir Hossain (36) of the bordering Thakurpur village had a stroke while doing agricultural work in the field at around 7 am on Saturday. He died on the way to the hospital around 8 am.

Moderate to severe and very severe heatwaves are sweeping over Chuadanga for the past few days. In this heat wave, heat alert has been issued in the district and miking has been going on for a week.

Jaminur Rahman, in-charge of Chuadanga first class meteorological observatory, said that on Monday (April 22) at 9 am, the temperature of this district was recorded at 31 degrees Celsius. At that time the air humidity was 75 percent. At 12 noon, the temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius. At that time the air humidity was 25 percent. The maximum temperature recorded at 3 pm was 40.6 degrees Celsius. At that time the air humidity was 16 percent.

Chuadanga has been experiencing the highest temperature in the country for the past one week. HEAT ALERT IS OUT. In this, the mercury has risen to a maximum of 42.4 degrees. This situation will remain throughout the month of April. The temperature will increase.

Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kissinger Chakma said, I had a disaster management meeting on Sunday. All have been instructed. As heat stroke occurs. So be careful. Along with that everyone should be careful with the resort especially agriculture, cattle and birds at the moment. He also said that miking is being done according to the information and instructions given by the Meteorological Department.
