Nandale youth hacked to death, three arrested

Miscreants hacked a young man named Rana (20) to death in Mymensingh’s Nandale. The incident took place at Banadi Gangailpara village of Rajgati Union of the upazila around 9 pm on Sunday (April 21).
Police arrested three people named Bakul Fakir (50), Bulu Fakir (45) and Bakul Fakir’s son Fahim (22) for questioning in this incident. Rana Banadhi is the son of Abul Hashem of Gangailpara village.
It is known that Rana was sitting on the pond in front of his house on Sunday night. At this time, miscreants took him to eat paddy from the pond. There the miscreants cut him and left him in a bloody state. Later, the relatives searched for Rana, rescued him in a bloody state from the paddy field and died on the way to the hospital. Police visited the spot and recovered Rana’s body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
Nandale Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Majeed said, three people have been detained for questioning. Legal action will be taken against the killers soon.
It is to be noted that there was a long-standing dispute between the Rajan Gangs and the Bakul Gangs in Gangailpara village of Banadhi, including a long-standing dispute regarding the electric irrigation line. However, there have been reports of attacks, vandalism and looting of Bakul Gong’s houses based on the incident of Rana. At present, police have been deployed there to keep the situation calm in Banadhi village.
