Advisor to BNP Chairperson Zainul Abedin Farooq commented that Awami League is killing democracy by using state power. He said that the power of the country which we made independent by war is being used on the people today.

He said these things in a human chain organized in front of the National Press Club on Monday (April 22). Farooq said that you (Awami League) will use the state apparatus to torture the opposition and end it, the people of the country will not accept it.

Joynal Abedin Farooq claimed that Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader’s statement was not acceptable and said, “You deny the declaration of liberation war by Shaheed Zia.” But they themselves talk about the spirit of the liberation war. In which sector did you fight, say once in front of the people of the country. Farooq commented that Obaidul Quader is a big party leader, his words should be moderate. He said, I want to tell Awami League that you cannot wipe out BNP.

Pointing out that Awami League is taking away the human rights of the people of the country by trusting the neighboring countries, Farooq said that it will not be possible to kill democracy and destroy BNP with law and order forces. BNP’s volunteer affairs secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Sapu, Dhaka Divisional Organizing Secretary A. Salam Azad, BNP co-organizing secretary Kalpana Roy and others.
