The two arrested accused, Chhabbir Hossain (20) and Shakeel Khan (21), the child’s uncle, gave this information during interrogation. They have given a statement under section 164 in the court.
PBI Police Superintendent Rezaul Karim gave this information at Sirajganj PBI office at around 11 o’clock on Monday.
The Superintendent of Police said that in 2017, child Subarna went to see a cultural program on the occasion of the Great Independence Day in Dattakandi High School grounds of Chauhali Upazila. There, Milan Pasha, son of Rashid member of Dattakandi village, along with other accused saw child Subarna playing with accused Chhabbir Hossain. Then the accused planned to rape the child. Chhabbir Hossain was offered Tk 7,000 for the rape. Agreeing to the proposal, Sabbir Hossain took the child Subarna to the crop field in Madhya Shimulia. There gang-raped the child by 8 people one by one. Meanwhile, the child kept crying and kept saying that he will tell everyone about the incident.
Then the defendants thought that if the child told everyone about the incident, he would be in trouble. So the rapists plan to kill the child. After suffocating the child with a bed veil, the body was left behind. In this incident, the child’s father filed a case against unknown persons. Later, PBI was given the responsibility of investigating the case.
PBI reviewed the postmortem report and post-mortem report of the victim Subarna and found that child Subarna was strangulated to death. Besides, black blood came out from his genitals. DNA tests revealed the presence of semen on baby Subarna’s padan clothes.
It was confirmed through PBI information technology and intelligence information that Chhabbir Hossain (20), the brother-in-law of Shishu Subarna, was arrested and interrogated from Shyamoli in Dhaka on April 19. Later, based on the information given by him, a youth named Shakib Khan (21) was arrested from Dattakandi of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. They admitted the murder and gave a confessional statement under section 164 in the court.
