A young man was picked up from his home in Mymensingh’s Nandail and his arms and legs were cut and hacked to death. Police arrested three people in this incident. At that time, indigenous weapons were recovered from them.
The murder took place in Gangailpara area of Banhati village of Rajgati union of the upazila on Sunday (April 21) night. The deceased Rana Mia (30) is the son of Abul Hasem, a resident of that area.
According to the police and local sources, the dispute between the Suleman group of Gangailpara and the Rajan group of the same area was going on for a long time. This led to several fights between them. Later a compromise was made between them through the mediation of local dignitaries. Last night Rana Mia was sitting near the house. At that time, the opponent’s people picked him up, cut the veins of his hands and feet and killed him, left him on the side of the road and ran away.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Nandail police station. Abdul Majeed said that there were many disputes between the two local parties during the past corona period. As a result of that dispute, Rana was killed last night by the opponents. In this incident, the body of the deceased has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. But no one has complained yet.
