Russia has warned that the US House of Representatives’ approval of a military aid package for Ukraine will only cause more damage to the country and more casualties in the war there.
“This decision will make the US richer,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Saturday. It will bring more destruction to Ukraine and more Ukrainian deaths.”
Ukraine has been at war since the start of Russia’s invasion two years ago.
The US House of Representatives passed a $6.1 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan on Saturday.
It will now be tabled in the Senate for final approval. If it passes the Senate next week, President Biden will sign it.
Kremlin spokesman Peskov also said that the law, which would use the provisions of the law to confiscate Russian property seized by the United States and use it for reconstruction in Ukraine, would damage the image of the United States. He said that Russia will take countermeasures.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev wrote on the Telegram app that the approval of the US aid package for Ukraine was expected and based on ‘Russia fear’.
On the other hand, Medvedev said, “After 6 billion dollars soaked in blood, we will definitely win.” Much of this money will be consumed by their insatiable military industrial complex.”
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, “Approving aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan in this bill will deepen the crisis around the world.” Providing military support to the Kiev government is directly sponsoring terrorist activities.”
He also said in the telegram, “Giving aid to Taiwan means interfering in China’s internal affairs. In the case of Israel, this will directly increase the level of war and the tension in the region will rise to an unprecedented level.”
