Bus driver Mahmud Hasan, the accused in the case of murder of Civil Aviation Senior Engineer Maidul Islam Siddiqui by breaking the boundary wall of the third terminal of Shahjalal Airport, has given a statement admitting responsibility for the incident.

The police produced him in court on Sunday (April 21). After that, he accepted the responsibility of the incident and agreed to give a voluntary confessional statement, so the investigating officer of the case requested to record it. In view of the application, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sheikh Sadi recorded his statement. He then ordered to send him to prison.

Earlier on Saturday (April 20) in the early morning of RAB-1 and RAB-8, he was arrested from his home in Harinathpur, Hijla Upazila of Barisal.

Earlier on Friday (April 19), a Raida Paribahan bus broke through the third terminal wall at Shahjalal International Airport. Civil Aviation Senior Engineer Maidul Islam Siddiqui was killed in this incident. He is Senior Sub-Assistant Engineer, Civil Aviation.

According to the police, a Raida Paribahan bus lost control and broke the boundary wall of the third terminal and entered inside. Meanwhile, civil aviation engineer Maidul Islam Siddiqui was driving a motorcycle on the road. He was seriously injured when the bus of Raida Paribahan hit his motorcycle. Later, when he was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him brought dead. Abdullah Al Mamun, conveyor belt operator of civil aviation, filed a case at the airport police station in this incident.
