If this trend of expatriate income continues, the remittance or expatriate income will exceed two billion dollars at the end of the whole month.

According to the information of Bangladesh Bank, on the 19th day of this April, 128 million 15 million 10 thousand dollars came in the banking channel. Among them, 1132 million dollars came through state-owned banks, 79 million dollars through one of the two specialized banks (Krishi Bank), 10881 million dollars through private banks and 3933 million dollars through foreign banks. .

On the other hand, the number of banks where no remittance has come is 9. These include the state-owned Bangladesh Development Bank or BDBL, the specialized Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank or RAKAB. Private banks include Community Bank, Citizens Bank and ICB Islami Bank. Foreign sector banks include Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan, State Bank of India and Uri Bank.

Earlier, remittances of about two billion (1.99 billion) dollars came through legal channels during the entire month of outgoing March. During the entire month, no remittances came through the state-owned Bangladesh Development Bank or BDBL, the specialized Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank or Rakab, among private banks Community Bank, Citizens Bank, foreign sector Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and State Bank of India.

In 2020, the highest remittance came through the banking channel due to the closure of Hundi. In the outgoing 2022-2023 fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of 2,161 million US dollars through banking channels. This is the second highest ever. Earlier, during the Corona period, the maximum remittance of 2 thousand 477 million dollars came to the country in the fiscal year 2020-2021.
