Gopalganj: Miscreants killed a young man named Ashok Mondal (35) by throat in Kotalipara of Gopalganj.
He was murdered at his home in Jathia village of Kotalipara upazila on Sunday (April 21) night.
The young man is the son of deceased Kalachand Mandal of Jathia village of the same upazila.
Ashok’s mother Urmila Mondal said, I fell asleep around 10 pm. At that time my elder son Ashok and younger son Asim Mondal were watching TV. Then suddenly I was woken up by Asim’s scream. Asim was screaming while holding Ashok in the balcony of the house. Then when we left the room to take Ashok to the hospital, he died.
Harichand Mondal, a businessman of Tarashi village, said, “My cousin is about Ashok.” He was a simple man. As far as I know he has no sex.
Kotalipara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Feroz Alam said, we have started an investigation into the murder. Hopefully, soon we will be able to uncover the real reason for this murder.
He also said that the body was recovered and sent to Gopalganj morgue for autopsy.
