The main accused in the case of murder of garment worker Abdul Latif in Sreepur, Gazipur due to drug trade conflict. RAB arrested Mofazzal Hossain (35).

RAB-1 Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahfuzur Rahman gave this information in a press conference on Sunday (April 21) afternoon. Earlier on the same day, RAB-1 and 13 conducted a joint operation and arrested him from Haripur in Thakurgaon.

Arrested Md. Mofazzal Hossain is the son of Sarafat Ali of Kewa Paschimkhand village (Karaitla) area of ​​Sreepur municipality of Gazipur district. The deceased garment worker Abdul Latif is the son of Abdul Khalek of the same village. He worked in a local garment factory.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahfuzur Rahman said that when there was a stir in the area immediately after the incident, RAB-1 started shadow investigation and increased intelligence surveillance to arrest the accused. Later, RAB got information that the main accused of Latif’s murder, Mofazzal Hossain, is hiding in Tengria area under Haripur police station of Thakurgaon district.

After that, RAB-1 and 13 Dinajpur raid team raided Tengria area of ​​Haripur Upazila and arrested him. Mofazzal Hossain admitted his involvement in the murder during the initial interrogation. Legal action is pending against him.

Earlier on the night of April 18, his friend Mofazzal Hossain called the deceased Latif on his mobile phone and called him to Shirin’s house in Baherarchala area of ​​Sreepur. After eating and drinking, when he went out of the house, Mofazzal beat Abdul Latif with a bamboo. At one point he fell to the ground after being hit on the head. Later, when Latif was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the emergency department doctor declared him dead.
