Iqbal Hossain Biplab alias Kazi Iqbal Hossain (49) was arrested in the child murder case after 14 years.
RAB arrested him from Barapul area under Halishahar police station of Chittagong city on Saturday night.
The arrested Biplab is the son of Fazlur Rahman alias Hormuz Mia of Madhyam Maladighi village under Mirsarai police station of Chittagong.
In a press release sent to the media on Sunday afternoon, RAB-7 said that Biplab was staying in Chittagong city’s Barapul area, and he was arrested after raiding the news. During the initial interrogation, the accused admitted that he had been hiding in different parts of the country for 14 years to avoid arrest.
According to RAB, in November 2010, Iqbal Hossain Bilpab and his other accomplices strangled a four-year-old child, Wasmi, in Madhya Maladighi area of Mirsarai and went into hiding. The court issued an arrest warrant against Biblab in the case filed in this incident.
