Wife and daughter beaten to death for playing games on mobile phones

Shahidul Islam (40) has been accused of beating his wife and daughter to death while playing mobile games in Dinajpur. Police arrested Shahidul Islam in this incident.

Dinajpur Superintendent of Police Shah Iftekhar Ahmed held a press briefing on the incident at 12:30 on Sunday (April 21). Before this, this brutal incident took place in Hayatpur (Chiner Chara) village of Daudpur union of Nawabganj upazila at around 8:30 pm yesterday.

Wife Morjina Begum (30) and daughter Arfin Jannat (6) were killed in this incident.

Superintendent of Police Shah Iftekhar Ahmed said that Shahidul Islam’s children Al Amin (13) and Afrin Jannat were playing games on mobile phones. Their mother Morjina Begum was cooking at that time. Morzina asked both of them to stop when they heard the children shouting with mobile phones. If they didn’t stop, the mother slapped them. Their father Shahidul Islam became excited.

An argument started between husband and wife over the matter. At one point, Shahidul hit Morjina on the head with the bed frame. Later, Margina fell to the ground. At that time, two children came forward and were beaten and seriously injured.

Shahidul tried to escape from this murder. He began to cry, “Who has left my wife and children behind?” Everyone come and see.

At this time, local people came running to the screams of Shahidul. With the help of local residents, Morjina was taken to local village doctor Abdul Aziz in a van rickshaw, who declared her dead.

The injured brothers and sisters were rescued and admitted to Nawabganj Upazila Health Complex. Jannat was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital when his condition worsened and he also died at 11 am today while undergoing treatment.

According to the police, the bodies of the mother and daughter have been kept in the morgue of Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. Morjina Begum’s mother Rosena Khatun filed a case in this murder.

Shahidul Islam was arrested on the charge of killing his wife and daughter in a case filed by his father-in-law. The police also said that Shahidul has been sent to jail through the court this afternoon.
