Former Zimbabwean all-rounder Guy Whittall was seriously injured in a leopard attack. He had to undergo surgery after suffering serious head and hand injuries. But now his condition is stable.

The incident happened earlier this week. Whittall’s wife Hannah Stokes posted the incident on Whittall’s social media Facebook.

Whittal, who played 46 Tests and 147 ODIs for Zimbabwe from 1993 to 2003, and his family have a safari business in the country’s Humani. Whital went out in search of leopards. He was attacked there.

He was airlifted to Harare for treatment after the attack. He was admitted to Milton Park Hospital there. His wife’s Facebook post shows Whittall giving a thumbs up with his head bandaged after surgery.

His injuries could have been worse in a cheetah attack. But that was not to be as pet dog Chikara rushed to Whittle’s rescue. The dog was also injured.

Before this, Whital had survived the death once in 2013. An eight-foot, 165-kg crocodile entered Humani’s hotel room. The crocodile was hiding under the bed all night!

“He is a very lucky man,” Whittall’s wife told Mail Online. First the crocodile, now the leopard.”
