Former Zimbabwean all-rounder Guy Whittall has returned from near death. He was the victim of a deadly attack by a leopard. Due to which Whital had to undergo emergency surgery in Harare. The former cricketer, who played a total of 193 international matches for the Rhodesians, is said to be in a stable condition.

Not only Whital, but also his faithful dog ‘Chikara’ was attacked by the leopard. Chikara also got injured while trying to save the 51-year-old former cricketer. This incident happened at the beginning of this week. Whittall’s wife, Hannah Stokes Whittall, detailed this in a Facebook post. Earlier this former cricketer had once again faced a terrible experience. In 2013, he once woke up to find an 8 feet long and 165 kg crocodile under his bed.

Hannah Stokes posted two photos of Whittall at the scene and post-surgery after her injury. Whital’s bandages are seen on his hands, feet and head. He is said to have bled profusely in the leopard attack. Whittall would have suffered even worse injuries if the faithful Chikara hadn’t been on the scene, said wife Hannah. That’s why Whittal’s faithful companion is referred to as ‘Very Special Boy’. At the same time, his wife also expressed gratitude to the well-wishers who received news about the danger of the former cricketer.

At the same time, Hannah claimed that her husband Whittle was lucky to have survived such incidents repeatedly. “He is a very lucky person,” he told the Daily Mail. First the crocodile, then the cheetah. His vitality is intense. He was lucky that Chikara was with him to help. Who knows what would have happened otherwise! We are grateful to him. Chikara will get some extra meat as a treat.’

Whittal played international matches for Zimbabwe from 1993 to 2003. He played 49 Tests and 147 ODI matches for them. He scored a total of 4912 runs and 139 wickets. Whital currently runs a safari business in Humani, a town in the south-east of Zimbabwe. There he was attacked.
