IPL stands for record breaking game. In every match some record is being created. A slight exception is Wednesday’s Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans match. Gujarat’s bowler Mohit Sharma has set a record in this match, but it is a shame.

Yesterday Wednesday (April 24) at the home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium batting first, Delhi lost four wickets in 20 overs and the collection stood at 224 runs. In reply, Gujarat stopped at 220 after losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Pacer Mohit Sharma in discussion after dramatic win. This right-handed pacer has created an unexpected record.

He has created a new record for the highest bowling in the history of IPL with 73 runs in 4 overs against Delhi. Mohit scored 73 runs in four overs. He did not get a single wicket. This right-handed pacer gave 31 runs only in the last over of four overs.

Earlier in 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Basil Thampi scored 70 runs in four overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mohit broke that record now. Yash Dayal is third in the list. Last year he scored 69 runs in four overs against Kolkata Knight Riders for Gujarat.

Topli also scored 68 runs for Bengaluru this season, against Sunrisers Hyderabad’s record 287 runs in the match. The all-time record in recognized T20s is held by Matthew McKiernan of Derbyshire. The leg-spinner scored 82 runs in four overs against Somerset in 2022.
