Mustafizur Rahman is an important player of Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League (IPL). The Bangladesh Cricket Board has allowed him to play in the IPL till May 1. Mustafizur will return to Bangladesh on May 2. He is scheduled to visit Zimbabwe on May 3.

In this regard, Bangladesh Cricket Board chief Jalal Yunus said, ‘Mustafiz’s return from IPL does not mean that he will play against Zimbabwe. We will only reduce his workload. He will travel with the team. It will facilitate his understanding with the players. He has to adapt to the US climate. We will play three T20 matches there in May.’

Zimbabwe is coming to Bangladesh to play a five-match T20 series. BCB wants pacer Mustafizur to be ready for the match against Zimbabwe as well as the T20 World Cup. It is important for Mustafizur to be fit for this preparation. Bangladesh Cricket Board chief Jalal Yunus said so. After the end of the IPL, the T20 World Cup is going to start in West Indies, America in June.

In this regard, Jalal said, ‘How good is playing in the IPL for Mustafiz? I don’t think he has anything to learn from IPL. His learning is over. Rather, IPL players can learn from Mustafiz. Bangladesh will not benefit from Mustafiz playing in IPL. Getting to bowl only four overs. And they are squeezing him 100 percent. We are more worried about his fitness now.’

Shakib Al Hasan NOC: Although Bangladesh is so strict about Mustafiz, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has informed that they will release Shakib Al Hasan for the Dhaka Premier League or DPL. Shakib is playing in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for the Sheikh Jamal Club of Dhanmondi, Dhaka. BCB boss Jalal said, ‘As far as I know, Shakib Al Hasan will not be able to play against Zimbabwe in Chittagong. Because, he will play in the Super League then.’
