Sunil Narine is playing explosive innings one after another on the IPL stage. He also scored his first career century against Rajasthan Royals. Who would not want to keep a performer like Narain in the team!

West Indies captain Rovman Powell has been doing that for a long time. After the Rajasthan-Kolkata match, he said candidly that he is trying everything to get Narine back. Because the West Indies will play T20 World Cup at home. But Narine is unwilling to retire for the World Cup. After several days of rumours, the Caribbean spinner cleared the matter with a statement.

Narine said, ‘Recently seeing my performance, many people are openly talking about me retiring and playing the upcoming T20 World Cup, I am really happy. Never wanting to disappoint anyone though, the door is now closed. I stand by my decision and will support those who play for the West Indies in June.’

“Those who have worked hard over the last few months deserve the chance to show the fans they are capable of winning another title. I wish them all the best. ‘

Narine did not play for West Indies after 2019. The 35-year-old spinner decided to retire from international cricket in November last year.
