This is the first time that Bangladeshi media or ‘Indo Bangladesh Press Club’ has started its journey in Kolkata. CIT’s temporary office at Padma Pond under Kolkata’s Entali Police Station was inaugurated on Wednesday. Let’s know about it in detail. Kingshuk Chakraborty of ATN News has been appointed as president of this Indo Bangladesh Press Club, Satyajit Chakraborty of Ektar Techvision as vice president, Shubhrajit Puttund, representative of Channel 24 and Samakal Pratrika has been appointed as editor, Deepak Debnath, treasurer of Bangladesh Daily and Bhaskar Sardar of News 24 has been appointed as editor. It is also known that Jamuna Television’s Sukant Chattopadhyay and ATN News’ Dharmendra Singh will be board members. Tapan Roy, director of ATN Bengal, was invited as the chief advisor on that day.

Kolkata is one of the most popular and cultural cities of India, Kolkata is also very important in historical background, so far Bangladeshi media workers working in Kolkata did not have their own organization. Many efforts were made but due to various reasons it did not happen in the end but these news workers continued to try, today they got their reward. The auspicious inauguration of this organization called Indo Bangla Press Club was held on Wednesday afternoon. At the beginning of the event, the cake was cut to mark the auspicious beginning.

Kingshuk Chakraborty, representative of ATN Bangla and President of the Press Club presided at the beginning of the program, Satyajit Chakraborty, Vice President of the Press Club and representative of 71 Television, explained the necessity of this organization. Deepak Debnath, Spokesperson of the Press Club and Kolkata Correspondent of Bangladesh Daily, spoke in detail about the purpose of forming this Press Club and how it will help the media and take care of the advantages and disadvantages of the workers. After this, when the opinion of the colleagues is asked, everyone expresses their opinion. P-73, CIT Road, Dev Lane, First Floor, Kolkata-14, now under Entali Police Station, Kolkata, is currently a temporary address but will soon be converted to a permanent address. Many important personalities of Bangladeshi media were present on the occasion, such as Prothom Alo correspondent Amar Saha, Channel 24 video journalist Vikram Laha, Jago News 24 journalist Jyotirmoy Dutta, Ittefaq journalist Tariq Hasan, Prothom Alo photojournalist Bhaskar Sardar, Daily Deepak Mukherjee of Sangam, Independent Television journalist Debprasad Adhikari was also News 24’s video journalist Shakil Abedin.

Regarding the journey of Indo Bangladesh Press Club, Deepak Debnath said ‘Today is a very happy and loving day. Bangladeshi diversity working in Kolkata is on the way to realizing this long-standing dream with the single-minded efforts of the media. Although there is still a long way to go.’ After that he said ‘Media is the fourth pillar of the state. In that case, the media has a different responsibility towards the state. We have to be more careful and play a responsible role in providing objective news.’ He also said, ‘In this case, our responsibility is a bit more as they are Indian citizens on the one hand and Bangladeshi media on the other hand, so the members of this press club will continue to make efforts to strengthen and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.’ On the other hand, Satyajit Chakraborty said that till now there was no organization of Bangladeshi journalists working in Kolkata. Through this new organization, their new existence has been created which will take care of all the advantages and disadvantages on their way so that they can work properly. He also said, ‘Since our work is to develop diplomatic relations or bilateral relations between the two countries, we have to play a leading role in that regard.’
