Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader commented that BNP failed in the democratic movement and chose the path of terrorism and violence and became desperate to come to power by any means. He said, the tactic of protecting terrorists under the guise of political rhetoric will not succeed. Anyone who is a terrorist or a criminal should be brought to justice.

He said this in a statement on Thursday (April 25). BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir condemned and protested the statement made by Kader.

In a statement, Awami League General Secretary said, BNP has become desperate to come to power by any means. Their leaders are devoid of self-interested knowledge. BNP has been doing anti-people politics. They are trying to seize power by using the people as a tool, threatening to create confusion and anarchy by wreaking havoc against the constitutionally legitimate and democratically elected government.

Quader said that BNP failed in the democratic movement and chose the path of terrorism and violence in the name of so-called anti-government movement. Terrorist and cadre forces of BNP and its allies conduct terrorist activities through arson and vandalism with the aim of disrupting the smooth running of the government and the development of the country. Their main targets are the country’s people and state resources. In the name of thwarting the 12th National Assembly elections, they burnt innocent people and destroyed state property through arson. And when the country’s law and order forces and His Highness Court took steps to protect the safety and peace of the people, the BNP leaders tried to question it. BNP is actually a terrorist organization, it is their policy decision to harbor terrorists. The government led by Sheikh Hasina is determined to take appropriate legal action against terrorist groups to ensure peace and security of the people.

In the statement, he said that Sheikh Hasina is struggling to establish a culture of justice by breaking the culture of lawlessness, which is stuck like a stone. Anyone who is a terrorist or a criminal should be brought to justice. The tactic of shielding terrorists behind political rhetoric will not succeed.
