Kolkata beat Bengaluru by one run in a tight match at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Gautam Gambhir is impressed with the way Bengaluru fought till the end despite playing with the burden of big runs. After the match, KKR’s mentor responded in seven words on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

Gambhir wrote, “RCB showed great spirit today.” Gambhir praised the way RCB fought in the entire match chasing 223 runs. After the match, he was seen praising the RCB cricketers. He also hugged Virat Kohli.

Andre Russell, who beat KKR in Sunday’s match, was happy to put the plan to work. After the match, Russell said, “I was ready to bowl the 19th over during the bowling calculations. Trying to make them chase as many runs as possible in Mitchell Starc’s last over. I wanted to give less runs myself. Karthik was not changing his strike at all. So I decided to bring variety in bowling and bowl six balls. I am happy to see that it has been successful.”

Added Russell, “I want to perform like this as a bowler. I noticed that the slower ball was coming at a slower pace. The two were happy to take advantage of that and dismiss the set batters. That turned the match. But Narine’s two wickets are also important. After that, RCB’s batting collapse started.”
