Director Raihan Rafi’s new movie ‘Amimansit’ was questioned before its release. The film was blocked by the censor board. Censor Board Deputy Director Md. A letter signed by Moinuddin is said to contain scenes of brutal murder. The content of the story, screenplay and dialogues are similar to reality. As such it is ‘not suitable for public display’. Deputy Director Md. This was informed in a letter signed by Moinuddin.

When the teaser of the movie came out on February 12, some of the viewers were saying that Rafi made the movie based on a true story. Someone again finds a similarity with the murder of journalist couple Sagar-Rooney. Although no one related to the movie nor the Censor Board directly mentioned Sagar-Rooney’s name.

When contacted, Censor Board member and producer leader Khorshed Alam Khosru said, “I have seen the movie.” We were present here along with government officials. After the screening of the entire movie, everyone has questions about its story. It was only then that the Censor Board decided to release it as ‘not fit for display’. Because as the story shows, the case is still ongoing, pending in the High Court. I can’t predict anything about that ongoing case. In such stories before the verdict, the censors have objections. Apart from this, they have also fixed the time. If you submit the movie within the next 29 days, it will be watched again.’

In the notification, the Censor Board says that such a story has actually happened and the case related to the incident is under trial in the High Court. The story/content of the film is similar to the pending case and may give wrong message and hamper the investigation.

The Censor Board’s letter also said that in view of the application on March 3, the film was examined by the members of the Censor Board the next day on March 4. It was then re-examined by board members on April 22 for further scrutiny. After re-verification, a detailed discussion about the film was held in the board meeting.

According to the members of the Censor Board, the film ‘Unresolved’ is not suitable for public screening as the elements mentioned in the first, fifth and seventh clauses of the Code for Censorship of Films in Bangladesh, 1 of 1985 are present. As a result, according to rule 16 (5) of the ‘Bangladesh Censorship of Films Rules, 1977’, the Censor Board canceled the film’s censor letter application or refused to grant the censor letter. However, those concerned with the movie can appeal if they want, said the deputy director of the Censor Board. Moinuddin.

Tanjika Amin and Imtiaz Varshan are playing the two main roles in this movie.
