According to sources related to the movie, it is basically a female lead movie. Runa Khan played the lead role.
In this regard, Runa Khan said, ‘Every artist wants to live in the hearts of the audience by playing a good character and I am no exception. ‘Neelapadma’ is such a good story movie.
About premiering in America, he said, ‘Suchitra Sen International Bengali Film Festival has started in America. There will be the premiere of ‘Neelapadma’ starring me today. Works very well. International audiences will be able to watch it.’
When asked when ‘Neelpadma’ could be released, Runa said, ‘Neelpadma’ will be screened in a few more international film festivals. Then a decision will be taken about the release.’
According to Runa Khan, 438 films from both Bengals were submitted to the Suchitra Sen International Film Festival in America. From there the jury board selected 37 movies. ‘Nilapadma’ is one of them.
Runa Khan said, ‘The story of the movie “Neel Padma” is about the life, social identity and rights of the girls of Daulatdia, one of the biggest sex centers in the subcontinent.
When asked about the experience of shooting at Daulatdia Vishnakalli, he said, ‘I will remember the love shown by the girls there for the rest of my life. After going to shoot, they adopted me. It seemed as if I had known them for a long time. Several people brought me food, chatted.’
