Delegation of International Agricultural Development Fund visited different gardens of Kaukhali

Kaukhali (Pirojpur) A delegation of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) visited various gardens of Smallholder Agriculture Competitiveness Project (SACP) in Kaukhali, Pirojpur.

On Friday (April 26) from morning to noon in Kaukhali’s Gandta village, Mir Zia’s Malta garden, Sumaiya’s dragon garden, Farid’s mango garden, nutrition garden and vermicelli post in the courtyard of Languli village’s residential house and agricultural entrepreneur Farid’s factory for making plates from betel nut shells were visited.

During this time he discussed with the farmers. IFAD Mission Leader Don Greenberg, Pirojpur District Agriculture Extension Directorate Deputy Director Md Nazrul Islam, SACP Project Management Specialist Md Hamidur Rahman, SACP Deputy Project Director Syed Abu Siam Zulkarnain, IFAD Program Manager Rila Kirk, Kaukhali Upazila Agriculture Officer were present. Agriculturist Soma Rani Das, private sector Faria Tasin of IFAD among others.

At the end, the delegation visited the factory of agricultural entrepreneur Farid in Languli village to make daily necessary dishes made from betel nut shell and praised this initiative. At the time they expressed interest in exporting this product abroad. Officials of various agriculture departments and farmers were present.
