About two quarter lakh students are going to appear for the ‘A’ Unit (Science) examination of 24 clustered universities on Saturday to fulfill their dreams of higher education.

The Integrated Admission Committee said in a press release that this year’s batch examination is going to start with a one-hour examination from 12 noon.

It is said that on the same day the architecture practical (drawing) exam will be held from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Students have been instructed to reach the center one hour earlier for other examination related formalities.

One lakh 70 thousand 599 students have applied in ‘A’ unit for the admission of 2023-24 academic year. In ‘B’ unit this number is 94 thousand 631 people and in ‘C’ unit 40 thousand 116 people have applied.

Professor Shahjahan, coordinator of ‘A’ unit admission test and dean of science faculty of Jagannath University, told bdnews24.com, “A total of 53 thousand 815 students will take the exam under Jagannath University in this unit. The examination will be held in five more sub-centres under Jagannath University. All our preparations are almost over.

“For those candidates who have designated Jagannath University as the examination center for admissions, the seat arrangement has been arranged in the campus and five sub-centres under it.”

Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Professor Sadeka Halim said, “On behalf of the Jagannath University authorities, we are making arrangements to sit in Bahadur Shah Park with chairs, fresh water tanks and doctors to provide emergency treatment.”

The Integrated Admission Committee said that no candidate or in-charge can use mobile phone or any kind of electronic device during the examination.

Executive Magistrates and sufficient number of law and order forces will be deployed in the centers to avoid chaos and ensure orderly environment during the examination.

On May 3, Humanities in ‘B’ Unit and on May 10 in ‘C’ Unit, the examination of students applying from Commerce Department will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
