Bangladesh Embassy book gift to National Library of Myanmar

Khurram Zaman: [২] On Friday (April 26), the ambassador spoke at the book donation ceremony at the National Library in the administrative capital of Myanmar, Nay Pyi Taw. Md. Manowar Hossain said that Bangladesh has a multidimensional culture, rich literature and a history to be proud of which needs to be communicated to the new generation of Myanmar to promote mutual understanding and common prosperity between the two friendly neighboring countries.

[৩] Myanmar’s Deputy Minister of Religion and Culture, Dao Nu Mia Jan, was present at the book handing ceremony. Hundreds of books were published on Bangladesh’s freedom struggle, economic development, history, language, art, culture, literary works, festivals, natural beauty, tourism, rural development, etc. provided in the library. Two large book shelves have also been donated to the library to display the books called ‘Know Bangladesh’ corner.

[৪]As a token of the donation, the Ambassador formally handed over Unfinished Memoirs of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s “The Quest for Vision 2021”. This was the first book donation by the Bangladesh Embassy to the National Library of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw. Editing: Kamruzzaman
