Bangladesh has achieved success in the International Invitational Wushu Tournament in China’s Jiangsu city from 21 to 26 April. Sukanth Roy and Nayan Sheikh of Bangladesh won silver in two categories in the competition. Apart from this, there were also medals in other categories.

Bangladesh participated in 7 categories in this tournament. Bangladesh’s achievements in 6 categories are 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Sukant won silver in men’s sanda category in under-85 kg. Mohammad Nayan Sheikh won silver in the same category under-48 kg. Apart from this, Mohammad Milan Ali won bronze in under-60 kg category.

In women’s sanda category, Eva Yasmin Disha in U-53 kg, Moshammat Shikha Khatun in U-56 kg and Kochi Rani Mondal won 1 bronze each in U-75 kg.

The tournament was a qualifier for the Wushu World Cup. Sukanth and Nayan of Bangladesh also got the opportunity to play in the 10th Sanda World Cup with excellent performance in the competition. The World Cup will be held from November 11 to 22 in Melbourne, Australia.

21 countries including Australia, Thailand, Switzerland, Jordan, Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Bangladesh participated in this competition of China. Where Bangladesh is 15th.
