RAB recovered 12 metric tons of stolen bitumen in a lorry in Chittagong. Two smugglers involved in the incident have been arrested.

They are Suman Chandra Dey (38) son of Gopal Chandra Dey of Dattapara village of Chandraganj police station of Lakshmipur district and Siraj Bepari son of Meudda village of Sadar police station of Bhola district. Abdullah alias Aziz (40).

The lorry was seized from a godown in South Nalapara area of ​​Chittagong Sadarghat police station on Thursday (April 25) night. In a press release sent to the media on Friday (April 26) afternoon, RAB stated this information.

RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Nurul Abshar told Jago News that a lorry filled with stolen 12 tons of liquid bitumen was recovered based on secret information.

The two arrested smugglers told the interrogation that they used to collude with each other to collect illegally stolen bitumen from the vehicles of various government and private companies and then sell it wholesale and retail at a relatively low price. RAB said that the estimated value of seized bitumen is Tk 12 lakh.
