The 115th edition of the historic Jabbar sacrifice game was a ‘guru dignity’ fight! In the challenge round of this season, the two finalists of the last season, Shah Jalal and Tarekul Islam, left the life ‘match’ and blessed two disciples, Bagha Sharif and Mohammad Russell.

After receiving Guru’s blessings, the two victims became invincible. Challenging rounds, semi-finals defeated one after another to reach the finals. In a thrilling and breath-taking ‘All Comilla’ final, the two rivals battled to the bone, but at one point, Russell left the senior Bagha voluntarily. By doing this, Bagha Sharif of Comilla became the champion for the first time in Jabbar’s sacrifice game.

Bagha Sharif and Mohammad Russell faced each other in the ‘All Comilla’ final. In this competitive match, two couples are fighting each other. 12 minutes in this match until the last moment was full of excitement. Strategy and counter-strategy continues. Russell gave up the match to Bagha Sharif, the ‘senior brother’ of the area, in an ongoing fight at Seyane. With this announcement, Bagha became the champion for the first time.

Before this, the first semi-final was held between Bagha Sharif and Rashid. Within two minutes, Bagha Sharif defeated another Boli Rashed of Comilla and reached the final. In the second semi-final, Mohammad Russell defeated last season’s semi-finalist Srijan Chakma and reached the final. Srijan Chakma of Khagrachari defeated Mohammad Rasheel of Sitakunda, Chittagong in the third place match.

Earlier in the challenging round, two-time champion Shah Jalal Boli and one-time champion Tarekul Islam Jiban Boli left the match as blessings to their followers Bagha Sharif and Russell. ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway Ministry, gave away trophies and money to the winners.

Earlier Chittagong City Corporation former mayor AJM Nashir Uddin inaugurated the sacrifice game. Hafizur Rahman was the judge in the final. Besides, former councilor Muhammal Jamal Hossain, journalist Chowdhury Farid, Mohammad Jahangir and others were as judges.

After the final, champion Bagha Sharif said, ‘I have come to play for the first time. Last time champion Shah Jalal bhai is my guru. He gave me the opportunity to play without playing. He is a very big hearted person. You will pray for him.’

Russell said, ‘Bagha Sharif is my senior. He has been playing for a long time. So I left the match to the senior.’

Both have been fighting each other for the past 15-20 years. 72-year-old Mofiz Boli is a resident of Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong and 70-year-old Khaja Ahmad Boli is a resident of Patenga area of ​​the city. The audience greeted them with applause as the duo took to the main stage of the Sacrifice game. At this time, two elderly people attracted the audience by performing physical exercises for a while. Then they wrestle with each other as soon as the ball starts. As in the past, no one could defeat anyone this time. This time the two were jointly awarded and the two were thanked for inspiring the current generation by participating.

In 1909, Abdul Jabbar Saudagar, a rich businessman of Chittagong’s Badarpati area, started this competition to unite the youth in the anti-British movement. This competition came to be known as Jabbar’s Sacrifice Game. Every year 12 Baishakh sacrifices are held at Laldighi field in Nagar. The participants in this game are called ‘Boli’.
