Dhaka: Heatwave is going on in the country, the capital is also burning in the heat. On Thursday (April 25), the Meteorological Department issued a new heat wave warning or ‘heat alert’.

The heat alert has affected the movement of vehicles and passengers in the capital. Traffic was light on major roads in the capital throughout the week.

It can be seen on the ground on Thursday that there was less traffic pressure throughout the day in Science Lab, Farmgate, Shahbagh, Gulshan, Mohakhali, Mirpur Road, Banglamotor, Sat Rasta and Banani areas of the capital.

Shahid Islam, helper of Bikash Paribahan, said that passengers are not available on the road due to excessive heat. Due to this, I did not see any traffic jam all day.

Passenger Shahadat Hossain said that bus travel is becoming difficult day by day in intense heat. The amount of fare paid by Uber, Pathawa, is not possible for middle class people like us. The rent suddenly increased in summer.

Meanwhile, the income of bikers who give rides on apps like Garame Pathao or Uber has also decreased due to lack of passengers.

In the midst of the heat wave, there are also reports of death due to heat stroke in different parts of the country including the capital.

Meteorological Department says, there is no good news about heat wave in April. There is a glimpse of heat alert for the remaining days of the month as well. However, in the beginning of May, there may be rains in the northeastern region.

According to the heat wave forecast, the ongoing heat wave over the country may continue for the next 72 hours from April 25. During this time the discomfort may increase due to the excess of water vapor.

Meteorologist of the directorate. Shahinul Islam said, there is no good news about rain in the remaining days of April. Although there is a glimpse of rain in the Sylhet, Mymensingh and Chittagong regions of the country in the beginning of May, it will not change the ongoing heatwave over the country.
