Journalists have access to Bangladesh Bank. But they are not able to enter the Central Bank for the purpose of collecting news for the last one month.

In this situation, journalists took a stand outside Bangladesh Bank on Thursday (March 25) morning. Mainly due to the publication of news of irregularities and corruption in the banking sector, the regulatory body restricted the free entry of journalists.

According to the journalists of Bank Bit, the news of irregularities and corruption of some banks has been published in the media recently. Bangladesh Bank got angry and imposed restrictions on the entry of journalists. The organization has taken this decision several times before.

To solve the issue, the leaders of Economic Reporters Forum, an organization of economic journalists, held a meeting with the governor of the bank, Abdur Rauf Talukder.

After the meeting, Bangladesh Bank Spokesperson Mejbaul Haque told reporters that the central bank has decided that from now on, journalists can only go to the spokesperson with the bank’s specific permission (access pass). However, if an official gives a pass to journalists, they can only go to that official. However, they cannot freely enter any department of the central bank as before.
