Is Bangladesh leaning towards the Middle East in developing diplomatic relations? Recently, this question has been widely discussed in diplomatic circles.

In the next few months, there is a message of improving Bangladesh’s relations with various countries in the Middle East. Emir of Qatar, one of the richest countries in the world, has visited Bangladesh. During the two-day visit, a message was given to improve Bangladesh’s relations with Qatar. Apart from this, Qatar has also assured to support Bangladesh economically. The President of the United Arab Emirates is coming to Bangladesh.

Foreign Ministry sources said that he is scheduled to visit Bangladesh next May. However, according to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, high-ranking personalities of several other Middle Eastern countries are scheduled to visit Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is trying to improve relations with the Middle East after the January 7 election. This is considered to be a major turning point for Bangladesh in the diplomatic field.

Diplomatic analysts say that Bangladesh is moving towards the Middle East due to various realities. Especially in today’s changing world and war situation, Bangladesh has to depend on the Middle East. There are several reasons for Bangladesh’s dependence on the Middle East. The first reason is the availability of oil and fuel. Uninterrupted supply of fuel oil has become a major challenge due to the economic crisis in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is trying to extract fuel oil within a year or more by developing relations with Middle Eastern countries. It is also known that there has been a positive agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in this regard.

It is said that there is a possibility of such an agreement with Qatar. The issue will also be discussed with the United Arab Emirates

Second, the Middle East is a large market for Bangladeshi migrants. A large number of Bengalis live in these countries, especially Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar. Many believe that the war may hamper the export of manpower to all these countries. Many workers may be laid off. And keeping this in mind, Bangladesh is renewing its relations with the Middle East, so that the workers of Bangladesh do not fall under the scope of this labor retrenchment.

Thirdly, cash assistance may be needed in the near future, quick loans may be needed to deal with the economic crisis in Bangladesh. And in that case, the Middle East countries are likely to be a big source of hope to resolve the crisis in Bangladesh.

And in all these realities, Bangladesh is now facing the Middle East. The debt rate of Bangladesh is very high. The amount of debt in Bangladesh has increased a lot. The economy has become increasingly dependent on debt. Many people think that the development of relations with the rich countries of the Middle East is a far-sighted diplomatic idea for the transition from here. Because in the next few years, Bangladesh will have to pay a huge amount of debt. This is why it is very important to have good relations with Middle East countries so that Bangladesh never falls into crisis.
