Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that when Bangladesh was part of Pakistan, they were told it was a ‘burden on Pakistan’. But that ‘burden’ has now greatly improved in economic terms. Looking at Bangladesh now, he felt ashamed. Because, even though Bangladesh has progressed, Pakistan is still far behind.

Shahbaz Sharif said these things in an exchange meeting with business leaders of Pakistan on Wednesday. He also said, I was young. We were told that Bangladesh is a burden on us. Today everyone knows where that burden has reached from the economic point of view. At this time, he said, when we look at Bangladesh now, we are ashamed.

Business leaders from different provinces of Pakistan discussed various issues with Shahbaz Sharif at Sindh CM House. They also urged to start business talks with arch-rival India.

National Assembly elections were held in Pakistan in February this year. Shahbaz Sharif became the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the second time in this election. Pakistan’s economic situation has been fragile for the past few years. There is pressure on Shahbaz Sharif to change this situation.
