A dispute over land irrigation in Bogra resulted in a murder, one arrested

A youth was arrested by the local crowd and handed over to the police in connection with the stabbing of the owner of the irrigation pump in Gabtali upazila due to a dispute over the irrigation water supply to the land in Bogra.

On Thursday (April 25), a stabbing incident took place in Buruj village area of ​​Nepaltali union of Gabtali upazila. The deceased irrigation pump owner Aminul Islam (44) is the son of Mozaffar Hossain of Buruj village. Arrested in connection with the murder, Hriday Hasan (23) is the son of Mozammel Hossain of Nishindara area of ​​Bogra city.

Aminul’s younger brother Abdur Rahman said that his elder brother used to irrigate the land commercially with a pump. A dispute has been going on for the past few days over the delay in irrigation of the land of Dipan, son of Abdul Malek of the same village. Around 9:30 am on Thursday, a young man named Hriday went to the irrigation pump and asked Aminul to irrigate the land immediately. At one stage of the argument between them, Hridoy Hasan took out a knife and hit Aminul’s chest and ribs. Local people arrested Hriday and rescued Aminul with serious injuries and admitted him to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. The irrigation pump owner died there under treatment at around 11 o’clock. On hearing the news of Aminul’s death, his opponent Deepan fled home with his family.

Gabtali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad PPM said, the arrested heart’s Nana’s house is in Buruj village. He is the nephew of the owner of the land. A few days ago Hridyo came to visit there. Preparations for the murder case are underway.
