57 officials left Bangladesh Bank

Dhaka: 57 officials left Bangladesh Bank. This information was informed in an office order of Bangladesh Bank last Tuesday (April 23).

These officers, who were relieved from Bangladesh Bank jobs, left Bangladesh Bank and joined Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) and other jobs.

Among these officers relieved from service are one deputy director, 55 assistant directors and one officer. The resignations of 48 of them took effect on Thursday (April 25). Besides, one person each was exempted on March 31, April 15 and April 16, two on April 18 and four on April 21.

Most of these officers who left their jobs were working in various departments of the central bank’s head office. Besides, 3 people were working in Khulna and Barisal office, 2 people in Sylhet office, 1 person each in Motijheel, Chittagong and Rangpur offices.

Several officials who were dismissed from Bangladesh Bank told BanglaNews that the incident of leaving Bangladesh Bank happens more or less every year. This time it increased.

They said Bangladesh Bank jobs are considered relatively good. Because of this, many people would have stayed in Bangladesh Bank even after being recommended in BCS. Now the picture has changed, employees of Bangladesh Bank used to get a little more facilities compared to other institutions. It is being reduced gradually. In such a situation, the tendency of Bangladesh Bank to leave the job is increasing.

In this regard, Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson. Mejba Ul Haque told BanglaNews that he resigned from Bangladesh Bank due to employment in various fields including BCS. Out of the 57 who quit this time, 54 have qualified BCS. There are many people who have left Bangladesh Bank who have got comparatively better jobs.

He said this happened after the BGSA results. Those who got jobs in Bangladesh before, were working. Later they left the job when they were recommended to BCS.
