Hajj 2024 : No visa, flight arrangements! Bangladeshi 28 thousand pilgrims are in uncertainty for no visa and flight arrangements

The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 16 subject to moon sighting. Many people from Bangladesh go to Hajj. But this time there is a crisis about Bangladeshis going to Hajj. That is why the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) and the Ministry of Religion are blaming each other. The owners of the Hajj agency claim that this complication is intensifying due to the negligence of some senior officials of the Ministry of Religion and some officials of the Mecca Hajj Mission. If this is not resolved quickly, there is a risk of chaos in this year’s Hajj. On the other hand, the Ministry of Religion claims that the attitude of those agencies is responsible for this. But they also said that efforts are being made to solve the problem quickly.

Fear agency owners
The owners of the agency said that some complications have arisen in the management of the Hajj due to not getting the Munajjim visa on time. On Wednesday, on behalf of the owners of the agency, in a press conference, Habibullah Mohammad Qutub Uddin said, ‘Due to the negligence of some senior officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and some officials of the Makkah Hajj Mission, the complexity of going to Hajj is intensifying. If these are not resolved quickly, there will be a risk of chaos in the Hajj management this year.’

They said that visa issue of pilgrims will be stopped. The work of that visa must be completed before that. It has also been informed that if the pilgrims’ journey is uncertain due to negligence, action will be taken against the agency as per the law. Qutb Uddin said that due to the visa complications of the agency owners, they could not go to Saudi and the money has not yet been deposited in the Saudi account. There was no rent to live there.

He said, “If the Makkah Hajj Mission and the Ministry of Religion cannot settle the issues with the Saudi government to carry out everything related to the Hajj pilgrims, the Hajj will become uncertain.”

No flight yet
Hajj flights start at least one month in advance every year. Prior to that, the Ministry of Religion and airlines handled the work related to Hajj pilgrims’ visas and flight schedules. However, this work has not yet started. The flight schedule has not been announced as the list of final Hajj pilgrims has not been received. As a result, about 28,000 pilgrims went to Muzdalifah and several complications including uncertainty have arisen. The agencies claim that no action is being taken to address the issue.

Government demandsHowever, the religion ministry claims that the Hajj agency’s greed for profit has created complications. Hub was informed about this crisis earlier but they did not heed. Now coming to the end they are blaming the Ministry of Religion. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religion, Motiul Islam, said, ‘Saudi Arabia is trying to solve this problem through the Hajj Mission. Hope it will be resolved soon.’
