The whole country is burning due to severe heat, heat alert has been issued. The heat of the sun is so intense that it is becoming difficult to stand outside. No one leaves the house unless it is necessary to escape from the heat. Therefore, the crowded and noisy places of Dhaka are less crowded than usual.

Due to less people going out, the sales margin has decreased in local shops. Some tea sellers said that no one comes to drink tea in this summer. Some come and drink cold water or coke. And grocery shopkeepers say that the number of buyers in Bhardupur is very less. The customer traffic increases mainly after evening.

The effect of heat has been noticed in Dhaka’s public transport. Dhaka buses are usually overcrowded. But by noon most of the buses were seen almost empty.

Passengers say that hot conditions are created inside the bus. Heat comes down from the roof tin. Many take alternative routes or reach their destinations before sunrise. No one rides the bus unless absolutely forced to at noon. Many people are taking relief again in metro rail.

The helpers of different buses said that mainly because of the heat, the number of passengers in the bus has decreased. Many go to the destination by riding CNG or motorcycles instead of taking buses to avoid suffering. Many people are going to Metrorail again to enjoy the AC air.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department says that severe heat wave is going on in Dhaka and it may continue. Night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. And due to the excess of water vapor, there may be discomfort.
