Sirajganj: The court sentenced three people including a truck driver and his assistant to life imprisonment for carrying 300 grams of heroin in Sirajganj. At the same time each has been fined 20,000 taka, and in default of payment, he has been sentenced to one more year of imprisonment.
Sirajganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Second Court on Thursday (April 25). Abul Bashar Miya gave this judgment in the presence of the accused.
The convicts are Shariful Islam (30) of Banshtalipara of Rajshahi’s Godagari police station, Billal Hossain (26) of Ali Nagar area of Chapainawabganj district headquarters and Hasan Ali (20) of the same area.
The additional public prosecutor of this court Jebunnesa Jeba Rahman confirmed this information.
According to the source of the case, on the morning of December 6, 2020, a patrol team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 set up a check post in front of Bismillah Hotel in Solonga and searched various vehicles on the basis of secret information. A truck was searched and 300 grams of heroin were found along with the driver and assistant of the truck. RAB’s DAD Salim Parvez filed a case as a plaintiff in this incident. After the long hearing of the case, the court gave this verdict on Thursday as the allegations were proved.
