So far journalists used to enter Bangladesh Bank freely. However, for the past one month, journalists have not been able to enter Bangladesh Bank. Dissatisfaction was born among the media workers.

On Thursday (April 25), angry journalists took a position in front of Bangladesh Bank.

On the other hand, a two-member representative led by Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) President Mohammad Refayet Ullah Mirdha and General Secretary Abul Kashem held a meeting with Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukdar to resolve the matter.

At the end of the meeting, the Executive Director and Spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank Mejbaul Haque told the journalists that according to the decision of Bangladesh Bank, from now on journalists can only come to the spokesperson with the specific permission (entry pass) of the bank. However, if an official of the central bank gives a pass to the journalists, they can only go to that official and cannot go to any other floor.

But as before they (journalists) cannot freely enter any department.
