Chittagong: The three-day long National Mass Music Festival is starting from Friday (April 26) at District Shilpakala Academy with the slogan ‘Wake up Bangladesh against communalism and class discrimination’.

On Thursday (April 25) at the S Rahman Hall of the Chittagong Press Club, the press conference organized on the occasion of the festival was presented.

In the press conference, the convener of the 4th National Mass Music Festival celebration committee and the president of the Samilit Sanskultur Jot, writer and researcher Golam Kudduch said that the National Mass Music Festival has been organized in Dhaka three times before. If everything is done in other parts of the country instead of Dhaka, all the people can be reached.

This is the first national folk music festival being organized outside Dhaka. That’s why we chose Chittagong. 135 artists will perform the national anthem and the inaugural mass song in the inaugural phase. As long as there is class discrimination, as long as the rights of all people are not established, there will be a need for mass music. Under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we made Bangladesh independent in exchange for the blood of 3 million martyrs. It was said that people of all classes, professions, races and religions will live with equal rights in a free country. There will be no discrimination of caste and religion. There will be no class discrimination. For that purpose, four principles were adopted in the constitution of 72. After the assassination of the father of the nation in 1975, that journey stopped. Then we had and are going through many difficult paths. How possible is the implementation of Bengali, Bengali, Bengali culture and the ideals of the liberation war in the state where the rules and regulations have to be followed in the celebration of Bengali New Year? We have to stand against communal forces. Maybe no one has eaten today. The number of extreme poor may have decreased. But class discrimination is increasing. We must fight to reduce inequality and establish rights for all. Cultural workers stood up during various difficult times in the past including 52, 71. Our struggle continues today. We have to stand against the marauding classes and communal evil forces.
