The whole country is burning with intense heat. People’s lives have been disrupted. People are facing various kinds of damage due to the strong sun of Baisakh. The number of patients suffering from various diseases is increasing. Due to lack of water, field crops and mango-lychee pods are getting destroyed. Especially the situation in the northern part of the country is very fragile.
In this situation, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is organizing nationwide Salatul Istiskar program to save from the deplorable situation caused by the heat wave. As a part of this, Jamaat leaders and activists offered ‘Istiskar Namaz’ under the open sky in Saidpur of Nilphamari.
This event was organized on Thursday (April 25) at 10 am in the wide secondary school ground (Achinar Danga) of Kashiram Belpukur Union of Syedpur Upazila. This special prayer and prayer was held for rain organized by Upazila Jamaat.
Upazila Amir and District Majlish Shura member Hafez Maulana Abdul Muntakim addressed the common Muslims before the prayer. Syedpur City Amir and District Majlish Shura Member Sharfuddin Khan and City Secretary Maulana Wazed Ali spoke as special guests.
Maulana Gaohar Ali, former secretary of the upazila conducted the prayer ceremony. Former upazila secretary and newly retired principal of Chapra Kashiram Alim Madrasa led the prayers.
Before the prayer, the chief guest said, according to the Qur’an-Hasith, it is known that due to the sins created by humans, Almighty God gives such rain and drought. If it was not raining, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) used to pray Istiska in the open field with his Companions.
For that they repented to the great creator for their sins and prayed two rakat prayers asking for forgiveness and prayed for rain. We are also full of sin. That is why Allah has put us in such a bad situation. So the Jamaat leaders gave instructions to follow the Prophet.
He said, if the social system of the Quran is implemented by establishing the laws of God in the land of God, such a global and natural disaster environment will not be created. Because in Islam, the direction in the management of environment and society is given by Allah and nature is helpful. Observance of Islam in all aspects of life is our shield from all misfortunes. So he called everyone to participate in Deen Qayyim.
About 500 people of different professions offer prayers here. At the end of the prayer, the devout Muslims prayed for rain by raising their hands and shedding tears in the court of God.
