Rajshahi: To get rid of the continuous heat wave and lack of rain, Istiska Namaz was held in Rajshahi metropolis this time. This prayer was held at Shaheed AHM Kamruzzaman Stadium premises in Terkhadia area of ​​the metropolis on Thursday (April 25) at 8:30 am.

At the end of the prayer, the worshipers pray to Almighty Allah for rain by releasing two tears. The worshipers broke down crying for heavy rain.

Ulama Mashayekhra of Rajshahi organized this Istiska Namaz today.

Maulana Abul Kashem Faruqi, a teacher of Cantonment Board School and Khatib of Terokhadiya Paschimpara Jame Masjid, led the prayers. Local worshipers from the surrounding area participated in it.

Earlier, Istiska prayers were offered at Puthia and Bagha in Rajshahi, asking for rain to get relief from the intense heat wave.

Meanwhile, Rajshahi region is burning due to intense heat wave. After sunrise, the temperature drops to the same level from sunset to sunset. Hot air pierces the body like fire. By noon, the temperature has gone above 41 degrees Celsius. A heat alert has been issued across Rajshahi for the past few days due to the situation. Educational institutions like all over the country have been declared holiday.

Various types of crops including corn and jute in the fields are getting scorched due to continuous heat waves. Red Crescent Society, an international voluntary organization, has miked to be aware of the heat wave. They are giving precautionary advice to avoid various heat related diseases including heat stroke this summer.
