The members of CPC RAB-12 Meherpur arrested Saeed Hossain (42), driver of Shyamoli Paribahan and drug dealer along with 273 pieces of yabas in RAB operation.
On Wednesday (April 24) around 9 o’clock at night, he was arrested in Gangni bus stand area of Dhaka-Meherpur road.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Moniruzzaman CPC-Meherpur RAB-12 confirmed this information around 11 pm on Wednesday.
Saeed Hossain is the son of Khed Ali of Chatian village of Upazila.
According to CPC RAB-12 Meherpur sources, RAB got secret information that the driver of Shyamoli Paribahan, which left Dhaka for Meherpur at around 2 pm, was smuggling drugs. Based on this information, when Shyamoli Paribahan arrived at Gangni bus stand at 9 o’clock that day, raids were conducted on that transport. In the operation, the driver of Shyamoli Paribahan, Saeed Hossain, was searched and arrested along with 273 pieces of Yaba tablets. Legal action is in process against the detained Saeed Hossain.
During the initial interrogation, the RAB official also said that the drug dealer and driver had been buying and selling illegal narcotic drugs to drug dealers in various areas including Meherpur, avoiding the eyes of the law enforcement agencies.
