Abdur Rahman was hit by a train while crossing a railway crossing in Mymensingh with his nephew’s wife to shop for his brother-in-law’s wedding. After this incident, the joy of marriage turned into sadness.

The incident took place behind Vidyamoyi School in the city around 10:30 pm on Tuesday.

The deceased Abdur Rahman (62) is a resident of Ujan Badera village of Sadar Upazila. Shefali Akhter (45) died with him.

The family members said that Abdur Rahman and Shefali went to Ganginarpar in the city to market their nephew Mohammad Khokon’s marriage. The brother-in-law was supposed to complete the religious ceremony of the wedding at night. On Wednesday, there was a reception with relatives. But they did not return home.

On Wednesday afternoon, it can be seen that preparations for burial are going on in two houses. Those who were supposed to come for the wedding are coming after hearing the message of mourning. Relatives and residents are shocked by such an incident.

But they didn’t answer the phone. After a while, Shefali’s son came and said that his mother had died after being hit by a train. After hearing this news, local people went and identified the two people. I am done.”

Motaleb Hossain, a relative of the deceased, said, “We like to visit Kalikapur, a neighboring area. Later that night, Abdur Rahman and Shefali Akhtar went to Ganginarpar to do the marriage market. Two persons were killed when the Brahmaputra Express train bound for Jamalpur was run over by the Jamalpur-bound Brahmaputra Express while coming from Vidyamoyi on an easy bike from there.

“The autorickshaw twisted and fell 100 yards away. The bodies of the two were cut into several pieces. We did not want such a death.”

Jahangir Alam, OC of Mymensingh Railway Police Station, said that Abdur Rahman and Shefashi Akhtar, the passengers of the Easybike, were crushed under the Jamalpur-bound Brahmaputra Express train at night. The body was handed over to the family on Wednesday afternoon.

“We are investigating what caused the accident. However, the easybike driver has not been traced since the incident; If he is taken out and interrogated, the reason may be known.”
